We create innovative fine quality knitted garments with a comfortable fit.
Our collection always includes fashionable classics as well as beautiful accessories, available in a wide colour palette. We believe that the quality of our products is the sum of innovative designs, small details, a careful selection of fibers and excellent craftmenship.

a Belgian-Peruvian project

Our collections are designed in Belgium and are manufactured in our own knitting factory in Arequipa,in the south of Peru. The magic of Aymara lies in this special combination of innovative Belgian designs and Peru's extraordinary textile craftmenship. This project is assuring an increasing amount of local people of a continuous income.
Over the years, we have established a unique relationship with these people, based on mutual respect and fair trade.

fibers

Peru manufactures some of the world's finest quality fibers.
For our summer collections, we use Peruvian pima cotton which is considered to be one of the softest and finest cottons in existence. In winter, garments made of precious alpaca blends are always an important part of our collection. Alpaca is a silky, soft durable fibre that has unique properties. Cousin to the llama, alpacas graze at elevations of 3500 to 5000 meters in the Peruvian Andes. This precious fibre is used by top designers world wide. We only use the finest alpaca fibers, called baby alpaca.

the meaning

The Aymara are a native ethnic group in the Andes of South America. They lived in the region for over 2000 years. In the 15th ceintury they were conquered by the Incas and later by the Spanish. Today, the Aymara language is still spoken in certain highland regions.
